The structures of bee Glxr-2 and Gox-1 genes. The homologous exons of the two genes are indicated by the same numbering of exons. Exon 6 of Glxr-2 and exon 5 of Gox-1 are divided into two ("a" and "b") by a single intron insertion. The Glxr-2 gene is alternatively spliced at the 3' end in the diagramed manner. The length of each exon is shown in base pairs. The detailed sequence information of the alternatively spliced region can be found in Additional File 6.
