The size range of the interval between each gene locus is shown. The repeat unit is at least 500 kb in length, but our current analysis is unable to define the complete extent of the repeat. The Ssty1 copies within the repeat can be distinguished from each other based on the presence or absence of a SINE insertion, and by a deletion removing exons 1–2 of one copy of Ssty1 (see also Figure 10).
