The selected AA sequences from the alignment of 115 AA sequences to illustrate an exclusively conserved intron intervening site among the tunicate and vertebrate GIRK group (continued from Figure 9). The yellow background and boxed regions illustrate exclusively conserved AA sites among the tunicate and vertebrate GIRK group. Especially glycine colored by green indicates the existence of phase 1 intron. In the other group, the intron intervening site was not conserved in spite of the conserved amino acid residue in some genes. The alignments for the rest parts of AA sequences, which are not included in Fig. 9 and 10, are illustrated in an additional file [see Additional file 7].
