Table 1 Expected genomic proportions of early generation hybrids

From: Estimating ancestry and heterozygosity of hybrids using molecular markers

Class S H I p 11 p 12 p 22
P1 0 0 1 0 0
P2 1 0 0 0 1
F1 1/2 1 0 1 0
F2 1/2 1/2 1/4 1/2 1/4
B1 1/4 1/2 1/2 1/2 0
B2 3/4 1/2 0 1/2 1/2
  1. Each of the genotypic classes generated in the first two generations of admixture has a unique pair of ancestry S and interclass heterozygosity H I [30, 31], or equivalently, a unique set of genomic proportions [33], where p 11 is the proportion of the genome homozygous for P1 alleles, p 22 is the porportion homozygous for P2 alleles, and p 12 = H I is the proportion of the genome heterozygous for alleles derived from each parental lineage.
