(B) Relative frequency of close inbreeding, i.e. matings between first-order relatives (based on field observations of parentage). (C) Yearly mean genetic similarity between mates as assessed by band-sharing values derived from multi-locus DNA fingerprints. Each pair was only included the first year it was recorded breeding (2-10 pairs per year, see Table 1). The regression line is shown for descriptive purposes (slope = 0.66, SE = 0.28).
